The 2026 NYS Grades 3–8 ELA, Math, and Science Assessments will be administered on the following dates: ELA on April 21–22, Math on May 5–6, and Science on May 12 for grades 5 and 8. Make-up exams will be provided upon a student’s return, with the testing window closing on May 15.
All exams will be computer-based and are designed to be shorter, with ELA and Math spread over two days and Science completed in one day. While each session typically takes about 60 minutes, there is no time limit, allowing students to work at their own pace.
These assessments provide valuable insight into student learning, helping our district evaluate curriculum, strengthen instruction, and make informed decisions to support all learners. When combined with classroom performance and teacher feedback, they offer a more complete picture of student progress.
We appreciate your continued support and partnership in your child’s education.

Our Safe School Ambassadors made a meaningful impact at GGM during our “Reading & Refreshers” kickoff! 💛🍋
Our SSA students stepped into leadership by working with younger students—reading stories, sharing lemonade, and spreading kindness through coloring activities and words of encouragement.
From PK through 5th grade, students connected, smiled, shared laughs, and experienced the power of simple acts of kindness. It was incredible to see our ambassadors build relationships, model empathy, and create a welcoming, joyful environment for all.
We are so proud of the way our students are leading with kindness and making our school community stronger every day!

Tuxedo’s very own Michelle Hines was honored with induction into the Ramapo College Athletic Hall of Fame this past February.🌪️❤️👏
During her standout collegiate career, Michelle was a three-time All-Conference selection in the New Jersey Athletic Conference and a three-time NFCA All-East Region honoree. As a key player for the Roadrunners, she helped lead the program to three 30+ win seasons and was part of the historic 2003 team that went a perfect 18-0 in conference play—the first undefeated season in NJAC history.
A dominant presence at third base and in the circle, Michelle also made her mark offensively, recording over 150 career hits and setting a single-season doubles record that ranked among the top in the nation. Her leadership and talent helped the team earn its first-ever NCAA at-large bids.
Today, Michelle brings that same dedication and passion to Tuxedo High School, where she inspires students as an English teacher, varsity volleyball and softball coach, assistant athletic director, and senior class advisor.
Congratulations, Michelle, on this incredible and well-deserved honor! #tuxedopride #tuxedoufsd 🌪️❤️👏

Creativity in action in Valter Ulaj’s class!
Students recently participated in a Gallery Walk Showcase, the culminating event of a multi-week Writing a Children’s Book Unit. Working in pairs and small groups, students designed, wrote, illustrated, and edited their own original children’s books—bringing stories to life through both hand-drawn and AI-generated artwork.
Before reaching this exciting moment, students spent weeks analyzing children’s literature, storyboarding ideas, and developing multiple drafts. The Gallery Walk offered a chance to proudly debut their work while engaging in meaningful peer feedback, practicing the essential skill of constructive critique.
This experience highlights an important lesson: writing is not just a solitary act, but a dynamic conversation between author and audience. 👏
We are so proud of the creativity, collaboration, and dedication our students demonstrated throughout this process! Thank you to Mr. Ulaj for always keeping our students thinking critically while infusing creativity in all of his amazing lessons!
