Our 2nd Graders took advantage of the recent beautiful weather and walked to the town library where they were given a tour of the historic building in the Town of Tuxedo and the opportunity to get library cards and borrow books.

HURRY! HURRY! HURRY! Only three days left to place an online order for the GFB High School Student Council Fundraiser.

Please be advised grades 6, 7, and 8 will be on 100% remote instruction, tomorrow, May 12th through May 17th. Click here for more information: https://5il.co/sj3o (en español: https://5il.co/sj2o)

The Photo News also recognized our elementary STEM teacher, Mariah Klimowich. Ms. Klimowich appreciates the value of working in such a great school community like Tuxedo. She credits her colleagues for providing ideas and advice which enrich her own teaching. She credits her students for their resilience and flexibility through a very trying year. She is motivated by seeing her students succeed at something that was once a challenge. While Ms. Klimowich is the first to acknowledge those around her and the last to acknowledge herself, her students give her all of the positive reinforcement that she needs. See the photo of a letter one of them wrote about her!

Kindergarten teacher Angela Rush was recently recognized in the Photo News for Teacher Appreciation Week. Ms. Rush has wanted to be a teacher ever since she was four years old; and here she is, 19 years into her professional career, still teaching; and still learning too! She says that the challenges of this past year have put us all back into "learning mode", much like the students we teach. This experience has given her an enhanced appreciation for parenting and teaching and also a chance to evaluate her own strengths and weaknesses in order to continue to grow as an educator.
Thank you Ms. Rush for all of the positive contributions you have made and will continue to make for our beloved school district!

We would like to congratulate John Castricone as our next featured student in our Senior College-Acceptance Series. He will be attending St. John's in Queens, NY in the fall! Way to go John!
