Mrs. Jones’ Government class examined current issues in America and the role of political cartoons in conveying opinions and influencing policy. The Seniors researched three issues of their choice at the local, state, and national levels. As part of a design challenge, they created three political cartoons to represent issues such as school lunches, environmental protection, the allocation of tax money to programs, healthcare, and international relations. Each student presented their research, slide show, and drawings to the class. Keep up the hard work seniors! 📚#TuxedoUFSD #TuxedoPride

Our Books and a Break assembly, led by Mr. Johnson, celebrated creativity and imagination! Students enjoyed listening to Harold and the Purple Crayon and were inspired to use their imagination to create something new, just like Harold did all throughout the story. 💜✏️Using their own purple crayons, they created unique stories and sounds with shapes, lines, and pictures, showing that creativity can begin with just one crayon and a big imagination. A simple purple crayon turned into endless creativity and smiles for all! ✨#TuxedoPride #TuxedoUFSD

Adolescent Psychology recently studied the 5 stages of sleep as part of a unit on biological bases of behavior. Students kept dream logs to study theories of why we dream. In class, students used a sleep meditation to relax and sleep.💤 Then the students analyzed their experiences. Quality sleep is critical, especially for teenagers. 😴 #TuxedoPride #TuxedoUFSD

We are incredibly proud to announce that the Tuxedo Union Free School District has been recognized by College Board on the AP Honor Roll, earning Silver overall status, with Platinum recognition in both College Credit and College Optimization! This prestigious honor celebrates schools that are not only expanding access to AP courses, but also ensuring students succeed and earn meaningful college credit. ❤️🌪️
Our results are truly outstanding: 57% of our graduating class took at least one AP exam, exceeding the benchmark for College Culture and demonstrating our strong commitment to fostering a college-going mindset and encouraging academic challenge.
Even more impressive, 57% of our graduates earned a score of 3 or higher on at least one AP exam, qualifying us for Platinum-level recognition in College Credit. This means that more than half of our students are leaving high school with real college credit in hand.
We also achieved Platinum status in College Optimization, with 21% of our students taking five or more AP exams throughout their high school years, including at least one exam in 9th or 10th grade. This reflects thoughtful academic planning, long-term growth, and a supportive learning environment that helps students build skills over time without unnecessary pressure.
We are immensely proud of our students, educators, and families for making this achievement possible and for continuing to raise the bar for excellence at Tuxedo. ❤️🌪️#TuxedoPride #TuxedoUFSD #APSchoolHonorRoll
