Dear Members of the Tuxedo Community, An initial part of our search process requires broad feedback from all segments of the Tuxedo community as to what qualities they believe are most critical in Tuxedo's next Superintendent. To that end we have posted a forced choice survey, listing 25 desirable qualities every community would want in their next Chief School Officer. However, you are allowed a maximum of only 10 qualities that you believe are most important for the unique needs of our Tuxedo students, staff and residents. Be sure you check the appropriate box identifying your role in Tuxedo. Read the entire survey before checking the ten most essential qualities, in your view, for our next superintendent. We have left space for any additional information you would like to share. Please be sure to complete the survey as soon as practicable since the results will be posted on our website as well as be shared with our Citizens' Advisory Committee and Board of Education to assist their questioning of semi-finalists in April and finalists in May. Thank you for participating. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScyD12MEOq3j7uBDq6ZzVVmvca_xA4X8yXpguYjyWuBPznMKQ/viewform?usp=sf_link

March PTO Meeting
George F. Baker and George Grant Mason Schools are under a Water Boil Advisory by the Town of Tuxedo until further notice. This means that our water fountains have been turned off. Until the advisory has been lifted, please be advised that there will be no access to the water fountains in either building but bottled water is available. It is recommended that parents/guardians have their child bring drinking water with him/her to school until the advisory has been lifted. It remains safe for students to wash their hands and our lunch program is unaffected by this advisory.

Valentine’s Wishes & Thank You to Community Services: This past week the George F. Baker High School Student Council delivered Valentine’s Day wishes and thanks to several community organizations that have remained open and active during Covid. The students thought it was important to recognize and thank the people who have been working tirelessly throughout the pandemic. The organizations included the Tuxedo Post Office, the Tuxedo Police & Fire Departments, Good Samaritan Hospital, the Sloatsburg Food Pantry, and the Tuxedo Ambulance Corps. The students also maintained their outreach with the Promenade. In November the student council sent Thanksgiving Day cards to the residents and in December they sent a Winter Holidays video. For Valentine’s Day, the students made digital cards that will be delivered to the Promenade electronically.

Some of our National Junior Honor Society students, in conjunction with The Town of Tuxedo's volunteer P.O.R.E. organization (Parks, Outdoor, Recreation and Entertainment) earned some community service hours. A big shout out to our local bird expert, Tom Fuller, who educated the students on blue birds, their scarcity and the creation of bird boxes to help them mate and lay eggs. He also gave them some valuable instruction on the use of several different power tools. Four of these boxes will be installed at the new pollination station at the north end of town (near the original Study of Insects station). The remaining 8 will be placed at local hiking trail heads, fields and other places to be determined at our next PORE meeting.
