Today marks the 20th anniversary of the tragic events of 9/11/01. On that date 2,973 innocent American and non-US souls lost their lives and over 6,000 more sustained physical injuries at the hands of 19 hijackers. Also profoundly impacted were the countless family members and friends whose lives were devastated after having lost their loved ones. Let us also not forget the growing number of casualties among the first responders and those charged with the clean-up, recovery, and rebuilding of our beloved cities who are now suffering injury and illness from both the trauma, and resulting toxic debris. On a personal note, my family too, fell victim to both of these aforementioned groups. These senseless acts changed not only our skylines but our way of life. Our hearts go out to all of those impacted. May we continue to teach our children that violence is never the answer and to continually strive to create a world that is safe, filled with peace, love and understanding. And let us never forget.

Due to the predicted afternoon heat index in excess of 95 degrees we are making the difficult decision to adjust our schedule for Thursday 8/26 and Friday 8/27 to a half day; dismissal to take place at 12:30 parent pickup 12:40 buses on the road. We will be forwarding an adjusted schedule for our Friday Celebration tomorrow morning. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Good Afternoon Families: In order to allow for planning, this announcement will address the Summer Bridge Program for both 8/12/21 and 8/13/21. Out of an abundance of caution related to the predicted heat index, the summer bridge program will be dismissing at 11:45 AM Thursday, 8/12/21. Parent pickup will be between 11:45 and 12:00. Buses will leave campus at 11:50. Lunch will be served at 11:15 AM. Our PM walking trip will be rescheduled. Additionally, the Summer Bridge Program will not be in session on Friday, August 13, 2021. We are looking at plans to reschedule the Sterling Forest State Park Day Trip and will reach out if that is at all possible. Please stay safe and hydrated! Thank you for your understanding and patience. We will see everyone on Monday, 8/16/21.

Congratulations to John Castricone and Theodore De Mond on being selected as Tuxedo's recipients of the OU Boces Humanities Honoree Award for the 2020-2021 school year. Theo was not able to attend the ceremony but did receive his award!
