Pick a Reading Partner always is such a meaningful experience for our students. Over the course of several weeks, we welcomed family members, special guests, past alumni, and members of our own Tuxedo family into our classrooms. Students loved hearing stories and building connections with familiar faces and community role models, including Mr. Kahmar, Mr. Kaufmann, and Officer Bonkoski. A special thank you to Cecily Potouridis and our Digital Literacy teacher, Valerie Mui, for organizing these wonderful experiences and making it possible! 📚💙#TuxedoPride #TuxedoUFSD #PARP

Adolescent Psychology students, as part of a unit on Developmental Psychology, became “parents” for two weeks. They had to care for and carry around, their “babies” with them. This project included taking pictures of their “babies” doing developmental tasks, exhibiting reflexes, and hitting milestones. The students then examined Erik Erikson’s 8 psychosocial stages and watched their “children” pass through the stages. The students interviewed their own parents and formulated a parenting plan for the future. Everyone had a great experience with their babies!
