Tuxedo Tornadoes basketball rolls on! The varsity and junior varsity teams continue their season with an away game this Thursday in Livingston Manor.

Coach Matt Takeuchi notes this is the first time in more than five years that Tuxedo has put a varsity team on the court. Takeuchi says, “despite our youth and inexperience, the team has made great strides forward in its first few games. The team has increased its scoring total, improving from 25 points to 40 points to 44 points.”

In three games, there have been six double-figure scoring performances. Jimi Reedy is currently averaging 13.67 points per game, Sean Essoka is averaging 10.33 ppg and sophomore Mo Berthe is averaging 8 ppg. Essoka and Reedy hold claim to the high point mark, with each recording an 18 point performance on different evenings.

“The team’s defense continues to improve as well behind an inside presence from Matthew Giglio and Jake Sandak and a scrappy style-of-play from Anthony Arone, Michael McColgan, Logan Bello and Shane Bello,” says Takeuchi.

Good luck Thursday coach and GO TORNADOES! 🌪
