Dear Tuxedo Families,
When our custodial staff arrived this morning at George F Baker High School they were greeted with flooding on both the first and ground floors. Our staff shut off the water main. Belfor Property Restoration was brought in along with a commercial plumbing contractor. All of the water has been removed. The cause of the flood has been determined to be a burst pipe feeding a boy's bathroom. The building is solidly constructed; however, the plumbing is showing its age. Much of the piping is encased in cement. We will address these issues in our capital plan.

All of the immediate repairs and any repairs resulting from collateral water damage are being addressed. At this point, we do not have a confirmed completion date for the work. Therefore, we will plan for remote learning days at GFB High School for Thursday and Friday this week. We will keep you informed as we make further progress and learn more. The Elementary school is unaffected by the flood. Elementary students should report to the school as usual.

Thank you for your patience and continued support.
