NJHS works with PORE to create birdboxes

Some of our National Junior Honor Society students, in conjunction with The Town of Tuxedo's volunteer P.O.R.E. organization (Parks, Outdoor, Recreation and Entertainment) earned some community service hours.  A big shout out to our local bird expert, Tom Fuller, who educated the students on blue birds, their scarcity and the creation of bird boxes to help them mate and lay eggs.  He also gave them some valuable instruction on the use of several different power tools.  Four of these boxes will be installed at the new pollination station at the north end of town (near the original Study of Insects station).   The remaining 8 will be placed at local hiking trail heads, fields and other places to be determined at our next PORE meeting.
