Congratulations to the five outstanding educators who were recommended and approved for tenure at the May 21 meeting of the Tuxedo Union Free School District Board of Education!
District administrators praised each educator’s qualifications and contributions and expressed gratitude for their dedication to our students and school community.
*Courtney Elemendorf – Grades 7-12 math teacher
A valued member of the TUFSD team for four years, Ms. Elemendorf has taught at both the middle and high school levels. She also serves as the advisor for the Middle School Student Council and Interact Club and regularly volunteers to chaperone school events.
*Anne Schiller – Special education teacher, grades 6-12
Now in her third year with TUFSD, Ms. Schiller brings a wealth of experience from her time at the Academy of St. Paul in Ramsey, New Jersey. She recently directed the district’s production of The Addams Family Musical, showcasing her creative leadership.
*Sara Correa – Sixth grade teacher
Ms. Correa has been with TUFSD for four years and has taught at both the middle and high school levels. In addition to her classroom role, she provides academic intervention services (AIS) support in literacy and math and coordinates testing across the district.
*Nicole Rocklin – Sixth grade teacher
Now in her third year at TUFSD, Ms. Rocklin joined the district after many years with the New York City Department of Education. She has taught a variety of grade levels, bringing valuable experience and flexibility to the team.
*Michelle Valastro – Fifth grade teacher
With four years at TUFSD and a strong teaching background from Sacred Heart School in Monroe, New York, Ms. Valastro plays a key role in the GGM school community. She supports the GGM play and helps lead the planning of the annual fifth grade moving-up ceremony.
These tenure appointments will become permanent in fall 2025.
