Congratulations to Thatcher Givens, who was recently honored with the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) Outstanding Achievement Award, joining a select group of only 500 students nationwide to receive the prestigious recognition. NJHS advisor Jennifer Jones shared that the award celebrates middle-school students who exemplify the organization’s five pillars: scholarship, service, leadership, character and citizenship.
Spanish teacher Anne Castellanos, who was pleased to serve as a reference for the GFB seventh grader, noted that Thatcher’s dedication to learning, integrity, service to others and leadership in both school and the community truly reflect the values of NJHS. “He is an outstanding student who goes above and beyond—excelling academically while actively contributing to many aspects of both the school and local community.”
The award comes with a $500 college savings plan to support Thatcher's future educational goals—an investment in a bright future that's already off to an incredible start!
Way to go, Thatcher! Your hard work and commitment inspire us all.
