Knocking it out of the park this season are Rachel Marin and Will Sandak — the Tuxedo Tornadoes Co-Athletes of the week for the week of May 12, 2025!
A senior on the JV baseball team, Rachel is a natural in the outfield, providing solid defense and nonstop encouragement to her teammates. Coach Matt Van Houten says that despite it being her first season, Rachel is eager to learn and picks up the game fast. “She shows up every day ready to improve and support her teammates—any coach would be lucky to have her.” ⚾
Will is in his second season as captain of the JV baseball team and has emerged as a standout pitcher, tallying 17 strikeouts so far this season—including 7 in the team’s most recent game against Sullivan West High School. Coach Van Houten says the junior continues to grow as a leader: “Will leads by example, practicing hard and bringing energy to the field every day.”⚾
