This morning, at approximately 11:20 a.m., George Grant Mason Elementary experienced a brief power outage due to work being done on Route 17.
At the time, grades K, 1, and 2 were in the lunchroom and grades 3-5 were in their respective classrooms.  Because the cause of the outage was not immediately clear, some areas of the building initiated lockdown protocol, out of an abundance of caution. Power was restored within approximately 20 minutes, and all students returned to their regular activities.
