ATOW 9/9 and 9/16

The beginning of the school year brings a flurry of activities—among them, the start of the fall sports season. Our TUFSD athletes are back in action, and we are thrilled to showcase these amazing student-athletes who have already made their mark, earning the title of Tuxedo Tornadoes Athlete of the Week for weeks one and two!

The ATOW for the week of September 2 is Madison Marsh, captain of the volleyball team. As a senior, she leads the team as a middle hitter and hype person, helping to secure the first win of the year against Fallsburg Junior-Senior High School on September 6. Madi recorded 18 kills, three blocks, 11 digs, three aces, and ten service points. Coming off a junior year that earned her First Team All-State honors, Coach Michelle Hines explained, “Madi continues to dominate on the court every game, and her intensity is infectious.”

Evangeleen Ortiz is the ATOW for the week of September 9. A middle hitter with the highest vertical on the team, Evangeleen dominated in the game against Chester Academy on September 12, recording 20 kills, two blocks, two aces, and nine digs. Coach Hines says the junior “is an athlete who truly loves competition and thrives in her position. Her knowledge at the net puts pressure on opponents, consistently resulting in points for her team.”

Coach Hines is thrilled to have both players on the team this year.  “These young ladies embody the passion we want to see in Tuxedo Volleyball, and I look forward to watching them play throughout the season!”

Way to go, Madi and Evangeleen!!!
