Ashley Romano

This #TUFSD “New Hire Spotlight” focuses on George F. Baker Science teacher Ashley Romano.

Tell us about your educational journey: I am a proud graduate of the Newburgh Enlarged City School District. I earned a bachelor’s degree and Master of Adolescence Education-Earth Science degree at SUNY New Paltz.

What are you most excited about for this upcoming school year? I am most excited about teaching various science topics and integrating fun hands-on experiments in the classroom.

What was your favorite subject in school? My favorite core subject in school was always science. Especially in high school, I was able to take various science courses that required a lot of hands-on experiments. During high school, I started to fall in love with music and band. I played multiple instruments including flute, alto saxophone and trumpet.

When you are stressed, what do you do to relax? I like to listen to music, read a book, watch a comedy movie or talk to my close friends.

What is something you are thankful for? I am thankful for my friends and family (biological and non-biological) who have supported me throughout my life.

Fun Fact - What is your favorite ice cream flavor? Chocolate.
