Value of Service Presentation

Roaring motorcycles announced the arrival of some special visitors to George F. Baker High School on Monday. Members of the Orange County Youth Bureau and the Orange County American Legion Riders stopped by this week’s PACE Period to lead a talk on the value of service. Joining Michael Bark of the OCYB and Colonel Holshek were Principal Reese, Officer Trevisano, Nurse Castricone and three of our own GFB students (Frankie DeGenaro, Juliana Scanlon, Dayanara Vasquez) who all shared their own personal experiences with volunteering.

The power of being a volunteer will be the centerpiece of an event coming up on May 22. The Tuxedo Middle and High School Volunteer and Mental Health Fair will encourage students to see the value in volunteering, become civically involved and assist in community agencies as well as introduce them to local mental health organizations. The Orange County Youth Bureau and the American Legion Riders of Orange County have collaborated to host this event. The community fair will be held May 22 at 11:45 AM - 1:15 PM.
