You must be a citizen of the United States. You must be eighteen years of age or older. You must be a resident of the district for thirty days before the date of the vote.
Note: Resident students who will turn 18 years of age by the day of the school district vote, may register to vote.
In order to participate in this year's Budget Vote and Board of Education Election, residents must be properly registered. Under New York State Law, qualified residents registered with Orange County Board of Elections for general elections are automatically registered for school elections. It is not necessary for such persons to register separately with school election officials. Qualified voters who have NOT voted in a primary, presidential, or school district vote within the past four (4) years, need to register in order to vote.
Where do you register and vote?
You may register with the New York State Board of Elections or with the school district. Registration must be completed by May 15th in order to vote on June 9th. When registering with the school district, you will need to provide identification and proof of residency.
Voting will take place by absentee ballot. Ballots will be mailed to every registered voter and must be delivered to the District Clerk no later than 5pm on June 9, 2020.
