Today's generation of students face a much different world upon graduation and require a more advanced level of skill with a focus on strategic thinking. Here you will find a summary of some education BUZZ words that you may hear.

Assessment is an integral part of instruction, as it determines whether or not the goals of education are being met. Assessment affects decisions about grades, placement, advancement, instructional needs, curriculum, and, in some cases, funding. When assessments and instruction are interwoven, both students and teachers benefit. Here you will find an overview of the different types of assessments - what they are, and why they are important to your child's learning.

This spring the New York State English Language Arts (ELA), and Math Tests will be administered online to students in grades 3-8 between April 16 – May 8, 2024.  The State Education Department has made many changes to these tests in response to concerns from both parents and educators.  Here you will find further information and details regarding the updated NYS Tests.
