Juliana Scanlon

Tuxedo Freshman Juliana Scanlon Named To The Section 9 All-Star First Team As Well As Sixth Team All-State For Volleyball

In the words of her coach, Michelle Hines, "Jules has been a student of the game since she started playing it, and excelled every time she stepped foot on the court this year. She avidly demonstrates the traits you want in your setter: agility, intelligence, game know-how, and mental toughness. She plays cool under pressure, and gives her teammates the opportunity to make the kill. If you are to be a setter, you have to be self-less. She is a player who isn’t afraid to lay out for the ball; she has the hustle a volleyball player needs to excel. Running with two setters this year let Jules take advantage of being able to swing, and she excelled at it. Her positive attitude and coachable personality truly benefits her. She is only going to get better as she continues her career. Jules led the team in service points with 209, adding 68 aces, 136 assists, 172 digs, and was our kill leader with 98."
